ABSTRACT
This chapter analyses how soft systems thinking and, in particular, Peter Checkland’s soft systems methodology (SSM), can contribute to the further development of scenario practice in addressing turbulence. In doing so we explore the philosophical links between the two methodologies and outline a number of soft systems thinking principles and SSM technologies that can be applied to scenario practice.
