ABSTRACT

The TV dinosaur Law & Order, the longest-running crime drama in the history of American network television, was finally cancelled on 14 May 2010. 1 With a record of twenty seasons, two very successful spin-offs, an eternal afterlife in syndication, and, for many years, an estimated $1 billion in annual revenue, the L&O franchise has been one of the most successful moneymakers for NBC since the 1990s. 2
