Common Eye Defects and their Educational Implications

This chapter describes some of the more common visual impairments the teacher is likely to meet either in a mainstream setting or a special school for the visually impaired. Most eye conditions in children relate to refraction difficulties which can usually be fully corrected. Severe visual impairment is relatively rare in children (see Chapter 2).
