ABSTRACT

Since the launch of the National Literacy Strategy (DfEE 1998), teachers are now familiar with the guidance and support contained in theFramework and it seems that now is an appropriate time to address how to use the Strategy as a springboard for creative, effective literacy learning. A resurgence of interest in creativity is evidenced in the publication ofAll Our Futures: Creativity, Culture and Education (DfEE 1999),Excellence and Enjoyment (DfES 2003) and the QCA materialsCreativity: Find It, Promote It (2000).
