ABSTRACT

The main purpose of this chapter is to provide some critical information about psychosocial phenomenon that could accelerate or hinder the healing process among patients. This chapter will briefly define the concept of health and discuss the impact of group and individual interaction on patients health. Moreover, it will identify certain personality traits of health care providers that may directly impact how quickly patients recover from their illnesses, identify important skills and personality traits that can increase the effectiveness of the health care provider’s role in dealing with sick people, and provide practical suggestions for those health care providers who will assume leadership roles in health administration. This chapter will also discuss strategies and skills health care administrators must master in order to be effective and inspiring leaders, and will provide some suggestions for dealing with job-specific and everyday stresses.
