ABSTRACT
Institutions of higher education in Zimbabwe include the University of Zimbabwe, fourteen teachers colleges, one polytechnic, and four technical colleges. All these institutions are supervised by the Ministry of Higher Education. Although some reference will be made to other institutions of tertiary education, this chapter will focus on the development of university education in Zimbabwe.
