ABSTRACT
Location: A small volcanic island in the South Pacific Ocean, approximately 1,350 miles east-southeast of Tahiti and 3,300 miles east-northeast of Auckland, just off the most direct sea route between New Zealand and the Panama Canal, which lies 4,100 miles to the northeast.
