ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the speech of Heym Stefan and he was born in 1913, he was one of East Germany's most prominent writers. He was an active participant in the East German citizens' movements of 1989 - 1990. His speech focuses on the freedom and democracy and for a socialism that is worthy of the name and about Germany, revolutions. The chapter also presents the speech of Christoph Hein and he was born in 1944, is a poet, playwright, and novelist. In 1982 he won the Heinrich Mann Prize and in 1983 the West German Critics Prize. His novel, The Distant Lover, was published in the United States in 1989. His speech focuses on the structures of the society, democratic and socialist. He also speaks about Berlin, Capital of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). The chapter finally presents the speech of Christa Wolf was born in 1929. She focuses on the revolutionary renewal, socialist system.
