ABSTRACT

The author is professor of history and political philosophy at the University of Turin. The interview, originally titled, In Europa cambiano tutti gli equilibri, was conducted by author. Without a doubt, we have to deal with a changed European horizon in which German influence can be great. People can have to see how the other Western European partners establish a fruitful relationship with the German presence on the continent, which will be an undeniable fact. Germany does pose a problem in its economic and political influence poses a problem for the European Economic Community, for Eastern Europe, for the Soviet Union and for the United States. The forces a reconsideration of past equilibriums which no longer exist and therefore we can say that German reunification is the end of past balances of power, and this presents important problems for all.
