ABSTRACT

Audio-visual stimulation combines flashing light stimulation with rhythmic auditory stimulation synchronized to the same frequency. AVS can be operated from a computer or with a portable cassette-tape-sized device. The user wears headphones and a set of glasses outfitted with small colored light emitting diodes (LEDs). The computer and portable units feature a wide variety of programs and settings to vary stimulation parameters, and these parameters can be controlled by the user or a separate operator.
