The Relationship of Dreikurs’s Four Goals of Children’s Disturbing Behavior to Adler’s Social Interest—Activity Typology

ABSTRACT

The present paper will show that regardless of what may be interspersed in Adler’s writings pertaining to these four goals, there is an indirect relationship to Adler. Dreikurs (1948, p. 193) presented a typology of behavior patterns to which he related the four goals, and this typology is essentially identical with a typology by Adler.
