ABSTRACT
Introduction In the study of the epidemiology of schizophrenia a consensus has emerged that urban living is associated with an excess of psychosis. Robin Murray was instrumental in the early studies investigating this phenomenon. This chapter will review the findings and discuss possible explanations for the urbanicity effect.
