ABSTRACT
Major shifts have taken place in global manufacturing and trade during the last decades. Internationalisation throughout the 1950s and the 1960s was mainly an activity within the old industrial core (OIC) – the industrialised countries in Western Europe and North America (United States, Canada) and a few other countries such as Australia and Japan.
