ABSTRACT

Kaleidoscopic changes have already characterized the decade of the 1990s. We hear many messages about the resurgence of such significant and complex issues as abortion and health care. Technology has catapulted new and compelling subjects, including embryonic transplants and gene mutation, into public debate. Also receiving increasing attention is another critical and provocative issue in our culture: homosexual parenting (lesbian mothers/gay fathers) (Bozett, 1989; Henry, 1990; Sears, 1994).
