ABSTRACT

The well-documented growth of online TESOL and the array of course management systems through which it is taught provide unprecedented opportunities for those TESOL teacher trainers who have the exciting opportunity to instruct and mentor a new generation of English as a Second Language (ESL) and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) practitioners. But with opportunity comes challenge. This chapter will address one such challenge— online assessment. In doing so, it will highlight many of the assessment issues that online TESOL teacher trainers inevitably face, and offer practical solutions for how to solve them.
