ABSTRACT

Greece, as all Western countries is experiencing a demographically driven increase in the size and proportion of its elderly population. It is well known that such demographic changes are dramatically increasing the importance of dementia disorders, among them the most frequent is Alzheimer's disease (AD). Indeed, the prevalence of AD is also age-related in Greece (Tsolaki et al, 1999a), as in other countries (Ritchie and Kildea, 1995).
