ABSTRACT
The importance of the carer's role leads us to the question of what will happen in a few years' time. Profound changes in society, family structures and the evermore important involvement of women in the workplace (they currently represent 70% of carers) allow us to foresee a fundamental question: 'Who will take care of the patient in 10 years' time?'
