ABSTRACT
Feng Dezheng is a PhD Research Scholar at the Multimodal Analysis Lab, Interactive & Digital Media Institute, National University of Singapore. His research interests are in multimodality, Systemic Functional Theory and cognitive linguistics. He is especially interested in multimodal media discourse such as news or advertising, analyzing the meaning making of
nonverbal resources, such as facial expression, within the SF framework and with theories from cognition, psychology and communication. Currently, he is working on the multimodal construction of emotion, social values and ideology in dynamic fi lm discourse. He has published several papers on SFL, Appraisal Theory and discourse analysis.
