ABSTRACT
When is forgiveness legitimate? Are there circumstances in which it’s right to withhold it, or is there always reason to forgive offenders, so that we can properly speak of and endorse unconditional forgiveness? Can forgiveness ever be morally objectionable, and if so, does this rule out the legitimacy of unconditional forgiveness?
