The following handout is intended for both seasoned clinicians and students-in-training as they consider designing a therapy group. The goals of this handout are to
1. Provide an overview to basic group process and components. 2. Provide the therapist opportunities for introspection on group design. 3. Review ethics and training. 4. Review group stages, leadership, and membership styles.
