ABSTRACT

The primary learning objective for this activity is to increase interpersonal skill development through the use of prompted feedback. The activity is designed to assist individuals with underdeveloped social and interpersonal skills increase their understanding of the impact of their behavior on others. Through prompted feedback, initially elicited from the group leader and subsequently given freely without such solicitation, clients are able to learn from one another the influence that their behaviors have on others. Indirect benefits of the activity include the illumination of therapeutic group factors, such as interpersonal learning, development of social skills, and altruism (Yalom, 1995), each of which may expedite the group process.
