ABSTRACT

Jason Duque Raley is an assistant professor at University of California, Santa Barbara. He received his doctoral training in Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education in the area of Language, Literacy, and Culture, with special training in linguistic anthropology and context analysis. His current work explores the relationship among culture, learning, and social interaction, with focus on the negotiation of trusting relations as a context for learning. His work also examines the epistemology and practice of qualitative research. When not teaching, researching, or writing, Jason is an avocado farmer in the Santa Clara River Valley in Ventura County, California.
