ABSTRACT
Bangabandhu Primary School is situated in the east of Bethnal Green in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. We are a community school and welcome children of all abilities, cultures, ethnic groups, political status and special needs. Sixty pupils a year join our two-form entry school and we have two nursery classes. The surrounding area is a mix of medium and high rise council fl ats with small areas of privately owned terraced houses. It is an area of considerable deprivation, with the majority of the school population being affected by substandard housing, overcrowding, unemployment or a lack of safe places to play.
