ABSTRACT
Much of the discussion in contemporary sports ethics involves analysis of the actions of athletes and coaches regarding how the game is played. Most of the papers, presentations and discussions about sports ethics heard at sport philosophy conferences focuses on criteria used to create, determine or evaluate fair play often involving examination of questions about doping or other attempts to enhance performance, cheating as it relates to fairness, gender issues, sportsmanship, sports wagering or the business of sport, analyses of overinvolvement or interference by parents, fan misbehavior, or issues of violence in sport. No doubt sport is saturated on a daily basis by these moral tensions.
