ABSTRACT

Bob Bjork has established a research tradition that brings together the highest level of theoretical and methodological rigor with a focus on topics of great practical importance. He and his many collaborators, both students and colleagues, have made critical discoveries that have advanced our understanding of learning and memory and their role in real-world situations. We know that the current chapter has bene-ted both directly and indirectly from Bob’s teaching, mentoring, and expertise, and we hope that, in some small way, it contributes to the tradition that Bob has established.
