ABSTRACT
The tragedy of unjust suffering has bewildered and overwhelmed humans for millennia. It has been the subject of works of drama, novels, and treatises of theologians and philosophers. The book of Job (in the Hebrew scriptures) is an example of this, and is considered by some to be one of the most profound pieces of literature ever written. In this chapter we will review the story and message of Job.
