ABSTRACT
With the work on the cultural world of Christian origins and the New Testament in mind, we are now in a position to wed some of these insights to a traditional historical approach to the Gospel tradition. I would strongly stress that the intersecting approaches I will use here are but the tip of the iceberg and they could all be developed in much more detail and with much more nuance. But in the following example I hope to show how those different approaches we have seen in Chapters 2 and 3 can be used in practice and with more detail.
