ABSTRACT

The collaboration we describe in this essay grew from the premise of our volume of collected essays, Organizing the Curriculum: Perspectives on Teaching the US Labor Movement (Linné, Benin, & Sosin, 2009). This premise is that because unionism is essential to a viable economy and healthy democracy, and indispensible as well to the struggle for social justice, reviving labor consciousness through education, especially in view of the current economic collapse, is crucial.
