ABSTRACT
The expulsion of the Jews had weakened the party in :r.1adina antagonistic to the Muslims, here styled "the hypocrites." This party is dealt with severely in this chapter. If the closing words (vers.' 18-24) belong to Madina, they were probably intended for the instruction of these hypocrites, though addressed to the "true believers."
