ABSTRACT

The authors of this book had reservations about addressing the topic of therapy with perpetrators. The medical and social science literature do not present a comprehensive theoretical or practical approach to this topic, nor do the authors know of any clinician who has published or presented extensive and specific methodologically oriented work related to MBP. Many of the journal articles and book chapters cited in this chapter are based on work with a small number of cases. However, a synthesis of the literature and some approaches to this topic may be useful both to clinicians who are seeing their first MBP perpetrator, and to the field in suggesting lines for future investigation.
