ABSTRACT

Most evidence suggests that public attitudes to development cooperation in the donor countries are strongly influenced by information and understanding. NGOs contributing to The Reality of Aid have surveyed their own governments’ spending on information, public relations and development education. For several countries, such as Japan, information requirements are integrated into project funding and are not available as a discrete category. In making country comparisons, therefore, these figures should be treated with some caution. In only three cases does per capita expenditure exceed a dollar a year. Those three cases are Norway, Sweden and The Netherlands, three out of the four countries which have consistently managed to exceed the ODA target of 0.7% of GNR Government spending on information and development education Most recent year in US$ thousands https://www.niso.org/standards/z39-96/ns/oasis-exchange/table">
