ABSTRACT
Repeated changes of school and of placement are damaging, not only because of the disruption they cause, but because each change represents an ending. Some young people experience unwanted family breakdown and go on to experience the termination of placements which they do not want to end. Some find it difficult to relate to new carers and trust them, and their carers do not obtain the support they need in time to prevent another crisis and eventual breakdown.
