Perceived Competence and Motivation in Industry and Government as Factors in Risk Perception
The gross sample of respondents consisted of 250 persons who had taken part in earlier surveys of risk perception, as members of the general public in Sweden and selected at random. They had at that time indicated their willingness to participate in further studies. Of the 250, 169 or 67.6 per cent returned a filled out questionnaire. Data were collected in May-June 1996. Of the participating respondents 59.3 per cent were men, 40.7 per cent women. Mean age was 44 years (range 18-75).
