ABSTRACT

Once upon a time, I was a teacher in our nation’s public schools. I taught in a small eastern Oregon high school—and I loved it. Because I tested my students back then, and because that testing took place in a classroom, it is reasonable to conclude that I was engaging in classroom assessment. But, at the time, I definitely didn’t know it.
