ABSTRACT

Make large pieces of glass more visible to prevent people from walking or running into them and sustaining blunt trauma or lacerations. The suggestion to make glass panes visible should not be confused with glass planes or gas pains. It’s about making large pieces of glass —typically those forming walls and doors —more visible to people who otherwise might walk or run into them. The consequences of colliding with glass walls and doors can be serious lacerations caused by shattering glass shards. The risk of injury resulting from collision can be reduced by laminating or tempering glass. It can be reduced by making the glass more visible in some manner. Glass can be made more visible in various ways, many of which are surprisingly easy and inexpensive. One protective strategy is to place items in front of or behind large glass walls so that people see the obstacles if they do not see the glass.
