ABSTRACT

In people's day-to-day world, each one of them have to know quite a number of things, depending on the varied activities they engage in. There are so many things, for instance, that a traditional housewife may know about; but given a certain set of housing conditions and a certain pattern of family life, there are things she must know in order to be a housewife in that particular society. Things crop up as playing their role in that activity, and this applies both to what we work with and to what people operate on, what is in process of becoming a finished product. The human body, too, like the space in which it operates, enters the picture as a function of what is going on. Gaining recognition is getting oneself seen as a person, one consequence being that others begin to see the point of what one is up to.
