ABSTRACT

This article describes the practice of early childhood musicality education based on the concepts of Carl Orff, one of Germany’s leading composers, who focused on developing the concept of early childhood musicality education. The focus of this research is on how the musicality concept through the unity of music, language, and movement can stimulate the potential of the children. The results indicated that musicality education in early childhood is directed to build the competence of a child’s musicality in order to train the musical sensitivity, and implicitly to positively develop the children’s basic potential. The result of the research through its praxis analytics shows that Orff-Schulwerk can be implemented in musicality education for early childhood in Indonesia, which does not purposively apply the European music system, but is based on the introduction of local musical aspects that can be found in Indonesia.
