ABSTRACT

Currently, many schools in Indonesia and also in other countries in the world are encouraging the use of mobile technology in learning for a number of reasons. However, there is limited research examining the appropriate learning strategies for utilizing mobile applications to improve learning performance for today’s learning competencies, especially character building. This study aims to determine the impact of cooperative blended learning using a mobile application to increase higher order thinking skills as part of strengthening the value of education in school. The feature of the mobile app supported the cooperative learning activity. The research design was pre-test and post-test one sample design. Data were analyzed quantitatively by using the paired t-test. The results show that there is a significant improvement in Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) after learning.
