ABSTRACT

This study aims to identify the private sector’s contribution to improving character education on the basis of industrial ethics in technical vocational education and training. This study uses a descriptive, qualitative approach to explore a cooperation program that was conducted between a vocational high school and industry. The subjects were 30 final-year students of a vocational high school sampled using a proportional purposive technique. Data was collected using questionnaires and analyzed qualitatively using descriptive statistics in the form of percentages. The findings of this study showed that: (1) most (93.75%) of the 30 students put work experience of industrial internship in the Very Good category; (2) based on the assessment of industry instructors, a majority (58%) of students have the competence to cooperate with others, are ready for working under pressure, and have good soft skills.
