ABSTRACT
This chapter attempts to give a comprehensive overview of the various existing French Internet dictionaries. It focuses on online dictionaries, machine translation systems running between French and other languages of the world, online corpora assembled with dictionary compilation in mind and dictionaries in Portable Document Format (PDF) format, as well as various websites for learning French. The distribution of the number of Internet French dictionaries per continents or countries is also something interesting to learn. There are also other Internet products, namely French foreign language websites, that can be found en masse on the Internet. One can find on the Internet a great deal of corpora as well as descriptions of individual corpus projects for the French language. Nowadays, there are also various websites for learning French at a beginner's level. The website of the Centre National des Ressources Textuelles et Lexicographiques is offering online French corpora, French dictionaries and lexica as well as translation software and tools.
