ABSTRACT
Are we responsible for how we act on biases in everyday settings? Is it ever appropriate to blame or hold individuals accountable when their actions are subtly or not-so-subtly influenced by implicit biases? Addressing these questions requires that we first step back to consider what makes people morally responsible in general. Chapter 8 surveys leading theories about the nature of moral responsibility to better understand responsibility for implicit bias.
