ABSTRACT
Within the financial glacier that has been settling into crisis stricken Greek urban centers the aging building stock of devalued and abandoned sectors has evolved into an experimental testing ground for architectural research. In this context the paper investigates small-scale and short-term interventions that challenge and upgrade current urban renewal strategies. The research hypothesis assumes that architectural operations which engage the building shell can acquire urban effects.
