ABSTRACT

The techniques referred to are methods for the recovery of carbon dioxide from flue gases; processes involved in the production of energy from fossil fuels; and the centralization of the sources of carbon dioxide emissions. There have been suggestions that carbon dioxide should be recycled via organic chemicals, which involves the conversion of carbon dioxide into useful organic materials. In order to achieve the fixation of carbon dioxide, it is necessary to provide more energy than is obtained when carbon dioxide is released from fossil fuels. Many non-specialists at first seem to believe that it would be alright if carbon dioxide were to be absorbed by either calcium hydroxide or calcium oxide. The subterranean pressure at which the majority of the pressurized carbon dioxide would be stored dictates that storage must be in oil fields at depths greater than several hundred meters, and that no leakage of the carbon dioxide occurs.
