ABSTRACT
The question is of whether I now believe that p is, as Evans has pointed out, transparent to the question of whether p is true. Why is this? Alex Byrne offers an explanation. I argue that his explanation, whatever its merits, cannot generalize to explain a related phenomenon, viz., that whether I now believe q for the reason that p is transparent to the question of whether p supports q. The present chapter clarifies both transparency phenomena and offers a unified explanation of them.
