A Framework for Automated Construction of Building Models from Airborne LiDAR Measurements
This chapter starts with a literature review on the methods for building extraction and modeling.
Presented next is the proposed framework, including separation of ground and nonground Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) points, segmentation of building patches, and roof model extraction. To reconstruct 3D building models, roof topology is highlighted by introducing several numeric adjustment methods. Finally, this chapter examines the performance of the proposed framework through a sample dataset.
