ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the author considers alternative definitions of the human condition: how it is shaped and mobilised through specific embodied sea-based practices and is realised socially and potentially 'politically' to give rise to greater environmental awareness and action. She takes the entanglement of bodies and technology through the activity of windsurfing. The author draws together some of her thoughts, embodied practices and various texts related to the sea, water, and interpretations in the context of space‒time cosmic thinking to highlight the permeability of human and non-human relations and the significance of our engagements with the ocean. This has been to engage the reader to think imaginatively and holistically about the connections of bodies and technologies, of myths and realities, and of social and environmental justice and the ways in which humans are all merged with the planet and the cosmos.
