ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the authors explain dimensions with a novel protocol for data mining of existing survey data and ended with a four culture model of the authority of science in Europe. Their common model of the authority of science includes four sets of concepts: science literacy and knowledge, evaluation of progress and reserve and engagement including interests. And in the fourth culture across Europe, the correlations across all four dimensions are weak and non-aligned: people relate to science on any of these ways, and they know about science, judge it, or are interested without any interlinkages between these intentionalities. Cultural analysis involves comparing patterns of relations between world-relations, stressing diversity-in-communality; communality in the dimensions, diversity in the correlations between them. The authors focus on correlations among indicators per unit/country on a tested regional parameter model.
