ABSTRACT
This chapter reviews the elements involved in a comprehensive clinical assessment of NSSI. Several established NSSI assessment tools and models are reviewed; however, no single measure, interview, or assessment framework is found to be sufficient for the clinical assessment of NSSI. Instead, a review of the critical variables and constructs essential to a comprehensive clinical assessment of NSSI is presented.
