ABSTRACT

The US had become the lonely superpower. Fast forward another decade and the world would once again be shocked to its core. Thus intelligence sharing become more than ever an international priority rather than a silo activity performed in isolation and disconnected from the rest of the world. Insurgents, terrorists, and transnational organized criminal organizations can use information campaigns to conduct psychological operations. Another important international intelligence sharing agreement is called Europol, which had its initial inceptions with the so-called Trevi Group. Another international intelligence sharing within the European Union framework is the Club of Berne which is made up of European Union security services heads. The enemies of the state today are not only traditional nation-states but also nontraditional threats such as terrorism, cyberterrorism, and human trafficking just to mention a few. As the world becomes more globalized and more porous, nation-states that refuse to cooperate will do so at their own peril.
