ABSTRACT

In continuity with previous formal analysis of comic and literary zombies, and to the extent that it is questions related to the movements and gestures of reanimated corpses that have led me to consider what would be specific to each of their media representations, this essay will wish to draw the profile of the video game zombie. From the visuals to the game mechanics, and above all from its head to his toes, it will examine the parameters that modulate its existence and, in the process, the gamer experience immersed in a zombie apocalypse. Does a zombie bite as deadly in games? What does the zombie do with its hands and arms? Does it walk or run? For we know that if the reader of comics and novels or the viewer of films and television series is not directly affected by the voracious human flesh eaters, the gamer is in jeopardy through her/his specular body s/he must keep alive.
